Looking for a fun way to incorporate the beautiful colors of Spring into your Easter Decor? These Dried Flower Eggs are the perfect way to add the beautiful blooms of Spring onto your Easter Eggs!
I love dried florals and have been trying to figure out how to use them in my decor for quite a while! Spring just seemed like the perfect time and what better way than on Easter Eggs!
I’m not a huge fan of the store bought fake eggs so this year I’m determined to add a few special touches to make them my own so hang on…it’s going be egg overload over here! Hahaha!
S U P P L I E S:
- Plastic or plaster eggs with flat bottom
- Dried Florals (I purchased these in Multicolor, Delicate Style and Dried Leaves on Amazon).
- Tweezers (The dried flowers I purchased came with a pair and they were so useful when handling the delicate flowers)
- ModPodge (Matte Finish)
- Paint brush
P R O C E S S:
First apply a thin layer of ModPoge over the surface of the egg where you intend to apply the flower onto. It’s best to work in small sections to prevent the ModPodge from drying too quickly.
Next apply the flower using tweezers. These flowers are super delicate so be gentle! If there is a stem or other area of the flower that is not molding to the shape of the egg, apply gentle pressure with the tweezers and hold for a few seconds to give the decoupage time to adhere. You can repeat this process as needed until the glue is dried, going back to those stems or other areas to ensure they’re secure.
After securing the flower, apply an additional layer of ModPodge over the flower and egg. Let your creativity flow and repeat this process until you’ve achieved the look you want! All of my eggs are different and I mixed colors and flowers with greens…the possibilities are really endless!
The flat bottom eggs make is super easy to stand the egg up on a flat surface to dry. Allow the eggs to dry for a few hours and then enjoy in your Easter Decor!! Even after making 6 of these eggs, I had tons of flowers left and I can’t wait to share the next dried floral craft with y’all!!
